# Sad Christmas Poem

This is one of the poems that I wrote in school. I thought it was nice and I wanted to share it with you all and spread the message of giving on Christmas

*In the midst of a jingle-belling town*

*Through the alleyway slums*

*On the floor, an old man was speaking*

*To himself*

*About nothing in particular, except how he yearned for his years back*

*Unlike you and me, he had no fire to sit by*

*Next to him, he had no family,*

*Next to him, he had no blanket or cloth, only a tattered shawl*

*Next to him, a quarter loaf of bread, and a single coin*

*Between him and death, a whisker, a hair so thin, it was like a straw*

*In the midst of the crowd, a young child approached him*

*Like him, he had nothing in his pockets, nothing on him but a tattered shirt and pants*

*On account of his goodwill, the old man smiled, and the bread was the child’s*

*One tummy was full that fateful evening*

*One tummy was not*

*One human was breathing still*

*One was not*

*Throughout the struggles*

*Throughout the times, Christmas is a holiday of giving.*
